I also don't like too much the idea of eBay acquiring StumbleUpon: the freedom of choice, publishing content and even social bookmarking quality may reduce and it will become one more of eBay's marketing engines. Well, that's just myself dreaming a little bit, but if eBay acquired StumbleUpon they want something in return. And they will surely get it.
You know its better that its ebay, they are less intrusive than aol , i would have understood your cries if it was aol , they have a more than proven record of ruining product's, take for example winamp . So far so good its ebay not aol, so before you go jumping off, wait and see how thing turn out. Personaly i like the updated site a lot better than there old site, the improvements in the last couple months have been very nice.
According to TechCrunch.com, the actual deal is believed to be worth $40-45 million. I'm actually surprised that eBay would make an acquisition this small. It seems more like a Yahoo-type acquisition.
great. i hope su adds an "ebay" category to the toolbar that branches off into 1024 different product categories, so i can finally stumble old xboxes and socks.
