I did a triple-take over the last few panels like "there's no f'ing way". A seriously disturbing twist that puts M Night Shyamalan to shame.

No, it was the presentation of the act. The comic sucks you in with light hearted banter between the bunny and the girl, and then completely destroys your soul when the realization comes. I also didn't notice the mother depressed and drinking the first time through, because I wasn't even expecting anything dark. It's pretty brilliant that it caught me off guard, and then the second read through was completely different.

It's a representation of how abuse directly robs a child of their childhood. It is real, and more people get away with it than are caught.

Actually, no, you're completely wrong jackass. The fact that people were obviously amused by the notion of a little girl being sexually abused is why I buried it. I assume you're one of them. I have no problem acknowledging the issue.
