Always cut your 6-pack plastic ring holder thingys so birds don't die of strangulation. If they EAT it, well, then they are dumb birds. (Kidding, kidding... plastics pollution is going to be a HUGE problem in the not-too-distant future).
Birds deserve it, theve had it coming. And Flock of seaguls have been screwing up hairstyles for 15 years, I ACUTALLY hoped they got plastic in their stomacs, and died cold and lonely.^nice wuss.
Actually read about this in national geographic. The birds ingest so much plastic that it fills their entire stomachs and they starve to death. There is a picture of all the items they found in one of the dead birds. Its quite disturbing.
