abcnews.go.com — In a move worthy of the Mythbusters, scientists in Denmark tracked over 420,000 cell phone users over the course of 21 years in an attempt to determine if the urban legend that cell phone use causes cancer is true. Their results: the RF energy produced by the phones did not correlate to an increased incidence of the disease.

I always encounter people who say cellphones are bad for you yet have no basis for that claim other then saying people (typically that they know themselves or through a friend ) have had cancer on the side of the head where that person would hold the phone up to their ear and/or cell phone shaped tumors. My response is people get cancer all the time, your chances of developing cancer in your lifetime are 1 in 7 (or worse!) , also what shape is a cellphone , really anything that sort of resembles a round blob can be called to have the general shape of a cellphone. So the millions of people getting cancer every year there are bound to be a few of those who get cancer by pure coincidence on the cell phone holding side of their heads. Another argument I get is that the RF radiation is bad for you. These people obviously just quoting others about this, seeing they don't know the reason behind their false claim. Seriously ask them why, they won't be able to explain themselves other then something about causing cancer. Here steps in science and explains why RF radiation cannot cause cancer, RF radiation simply " does not carry enough energy to ionize atoms or molecules - that is, to completely remove an electron from an atom or molecule."<a class="user" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ionizing_radiation">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ionizing_radiation</a><a class="user" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-ionizing_radiation">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-ionizing_radiation</a>

Seems odd to me... I mean, 21 years ago there was no urban legend saying cell phones caused cancer...I am curious if maybe they started out researching something different. At any rate, cell phones are still dangerous. Because some clowns pay to much attention to their cell phone chatting, and not enough attention to their driving. :PBut that is a whole different debate.

Beaming a high-frequency electromagnetic signal deep into your brain is a ridiculous idea.Cellphones have been linked to altering brain response patterns, increasing resting blood pressure, and causing suicide.I pity the poor teenage girls who seem to have cellphones grafted to their heads.I would recommend only using a cellphone for emergency situations.

I'm not an expert on this, but I have taken an antenna design class in my undergrad. We spent a considerable time studying cellphone antenna properties. What I do recall is that most cell phone antennas actually use your brain as an extension of the antenna. This has to be considered because of the inherent usage of a cellphone (pressed against your head, if not considered, would interfere with the antenna's reception). Thermal cameras showed brain temperatures increasing by a couple degrees after usage. It's not a coincidence that most cellphones/cordless phones operate using microwaves around 2.4ghz, the same frequency that water molecules oscillate at, and as we all know there's a substantial amount of water keepin' our noggins alive. No matter what a study says, I'd be a happier person knowing I wasn't doing the daily equivalent of jamming my head into a kitchen microwave everyday.

I can feel the radiation on my temporal bone. it gives me a headache like *non-radioactive* sources of communication simply don't.i will not be contributing financially to the cell phone industry for the duration of my market presence. i also hope to have them far from my head at all times.what do you have to say about the studies showing that cell phones produce Roentgens? And have been linked to disease? who funds your studies?

denmark is home to one of the worlds largest cellphone manufacturers.you think they're going to release a study with different conclusions?you are a gullible pawn.
