washingtonpost.com — MONDAY, Jan. 26 (HealthDay News) -- Almost half of tested samples of commercial high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) contained mercury, which was also found in nearly a third of 55 popular brand-name food and beverage products where HFCS is the first- or second-highest labeled ingredient, according to two new U.S. studies.

The trouble is, nobody truly cares about their health. They're always looking for the cheapest food so they will have more money to pay the bills and buy more bling. A lot of people will dismiss this "HFCS has mercury" story as some whackjob conspiracy theory, as they always do when even mainstream media reports that MSG and aspartame may cause cancer. If you suspect that you have mercury in your system, your best bet is to do a total body cleanse/detox program which removes heavy metals such as mercury. You just need to do research on which programs really do work and which ones are merely "get rich quick" schemes perpetrated by snake oil salesmen such as Klee Irwin and Danny Vierra.

Ok, but aren't lemon & lime ACID, not alkaline, things??

Good question. They are acidic in their composition, but that is not what is key, what is key is how they AFFECT your body. The effect of lemon and lime on your body chemistry is alkalizing. If you think about what humans ate pre-civilization (i.e. nuts, fruits, leafy greens, seeds, roots, etc.) this is the type of stuff that is REALLY good for your system. Head that route with your diet, and you will be headed in the right direction. Before you eat, just think, would humans have been eating this before there were major farms, machines, factories, etc.?

Wow I have to admit I was kinda surprised, HFCS is bad enough on its own now lets throw in a bit of brain damaging mercury. Fantastic...dont worry the vaccines are ok though.

But that retarded commercial told me that HFCS was perfectly safe!

One of the main reasons why we Americans are so obese is HFCS.Do you think that Europeans exercise every day and really eat that much less than us?That it contains a deadly poison is just icing on the cake (no, really, it *IS* icing on the cake... pun intended).

I read a great article about chemicals in food and new aditives last year and then I heard the author on NPR. After an hour of answering questions he summer up with this "if your grandmother wouldn't have know what this product is, then dont eat it"
