Humor. Ha. No logic to it, but I'm sure people on your end who don't quite comprehend the simple reason such phrases as "opiate for the masses" were created and the implications of such things on our society (and the influence such things have had throughout history) think it's a good one.But it's your sort of folk that like to spout that battered and abused phrase, "power to the people." There's irony for you.

does anyone even remotely believe that the war on drugs has been any sort of a measurable success? If it is so blatantly obvious to most of us, I cant help but hope it will soon begin to be obvious to our elected lawmakers.how is that for optimism?

Once again, talking points and post-burying, but no substance. The study says absolutely nothing of the sort that sodade contends. How much "opiate for the masses" are you guys currently using, I wonder.. That could explain some things. Yeah, I keep using that phrase throughout this thread... and you keep ignoring it.

Albert Einstein once said “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”. So, by all means let's keep doing the same thing we have been doing for the past 70 years. Let's keep increasing the penalties for small possession until the entire country is a prison. Oh, wait, they can't keep drugs out of the prison system now so I guess that won't work either. But, hey, at least we won't have to worry about the pesky Constitution anymore.
