Students tie ?56 camera to balloon; send it to edge of space

Proving that you don't need Google's billions or the BBC weather centre's resources, the four Spanish students managed to send a camera-operated weather balloon into the stratosphere. Our physics club did it last year. we have a photo album, video and the satellite itself to prove it. We dismembered two digital cameras, used the innards combined with battery packs and custom electronics we created ourselves to record both video and take high resolution snapshots at regular time intervals. It was so cool.
