Since I don't get shot for asking those questions, I'd say yeah. And I'm sure a nanny-socialist state would be much better

I think I speak for a lot of non-US residents when I point out how disturbing all this "we need gun"-talk seems. Maybe I really am missing the point or don't understand that so-called American way of life, but it seems to me that the violence situation is spinning out of control in the States. Bringing in more guns hardly seems like a good solution. Being able to openly talk about guns in a supermarket without getting strange looks, does not seem like a place I would want to grow up in. I have to agree with one of the other posters here, who said his country didn't have these problems. It seems that here in Europe things are just taken in a much more cool and relaxed manner. People don't carry guns because people don't need them (and are not allowed to do so anyway). If a guy doesn't have his ID and acts like an idiot, ignore him or throw him out. It's not a big thing. He's young and maybe a bit of a rebel. So what?I stayed at an American University last summer and was shocked to see how strict they were. It seemed they had no trust in the students. Going to a campus party was like doing something forbidden. God, what has happened? This makes me so sad.

I don't know what I'm more angry at: the cops for doing that, or the assh**es that just stand and watch. You're telling me all those people couldn't have attacked those cops?!Bunch of pussies. Makes me disgusted.

$8 to park, and you get a portion back if you leave within 30 minutes.

So what exactly happened to the policemen after nearly two months?Maybe they are still enjoying their job of tasering innocent people?

I F'n hate cops. Truly. As they say, the only kind of man attraced to that line of work is a dog and the only kind of woman attracted to that line of work is a bitch...both K9s. If I was there I would of stepped in, punched one of the cops in the face, taken his taser, and then proceed to tase all of those pigs. I would've done jail time easy if it meant giving those crooked pigs a taste of their own dirty medicine. This kind of thing is exactly why only the firemen that died in 9/11 were regarded as true heroes and the cops were pretty much ignored. No one trusts pigs, that's why I like to stay kosher.

THOSE "OFFICERS" SHOULD BE SHOT IN THE F**KING HEAD.

From the video, it looks like an older model TASER M26.<a class="user" href="http://www.taser.com/law/product_info/index.htm">http://www.taser.com/law/product_info/index.htm</a>Getting Tasered usually means you lose muscle control, as wellas bowel and bladder control, so you piss yourself and defecate on yourself too. Not always, but sometimes. It is quite a ZAP.Standing up is very much not possible while you are being tasered. But it sure beats getting clubbed with a baton, or shot at point blank rangewith a .45 or a 9mm pistol. Not nice, but no bloody bits spattered on the wall.If you need protection for yourself, <a class="user" href="http://www.securityplanet.com">http://www.securityplanet.com</a> has a variety of stun guns for civilian purchase, check your local laws about carrying anywhere. Tasers are less-leathal, most of the time, the target will not die (most of the time). But they are still a weapon. If you get tasered, you might want to say 'I can't breath!' so they lay off a little bit,and if you can't stand up say 'I can't feel my legs, I can't move!' That way the cops know that the taser done zapped you good, and they don't think you are fighting them. If the cops think you are gonna come up swinging at them, well - ZAP you'll get it over and over again until you 'comply'. That is how they are trained, they are not being mean about it.Some Taser training has the Policeman get Tasered themselves, so they know how bad it is. Same goes for pepper spray too.I feel bad for the kid, but it is wise to be respectful and say 'Yes, Sir' and 'No, Sir' to the police. They don't want to have a bad day either. 1 minute of respect would have saved this kid a night of pain.

Before you Jump on a policeman's back, just remember they more than likely have Glock .45 pistols or lightweight 9mm to back up that Taser.<a class="user" href="http://www.glock.com/english/index_pistols_45.htm">http://www.glock.com/english/index_pistols_45.htm</a>You wont be getting up after that if the cop thinks your trying to get his gun off of him.

4 lines. summed up so well. thank you so much.

a tazer is meant to be used in place of a gun. if a gun had been used here, what would have the response been?<a class="user" href="http://www.newsroom.ucla.edu/taserreport/">http://www.newsroom.ucla.edu/taserreport/</a>police report on the incident, skip to about page 59

So true. Our government is try to control us completely. Has anyone noticed how police officers are becoming more and more of a military force. Most are blinded by this because the government is using excuses like "homeland security" to scare us into allowing it.
aminmadaniSep 2, 2007
I agree what the cops did is wrong and that the cops are complete idiots. But if the crowd had got involved then it would of just given the officers more of a reason to use excessive force and with so many people in the fray they wouldn't be able to see what happened clearly.
amicoolyet88Oct 4, 2007
Did they really need him to stand up? Why couldn't they have just dragged him out of there... Looks pretty obvious they were looking for a reason to taser him repeatedly...

My god!! I'm from UCLA and I never get my library card... Thanks god I'm traveling on France now - <a class="user" href="http://www.mybackpackingbuddies.com/forums/func,view/catid,2/id,470/#470">http://www.mybackpackingbuddies.com/forums/func,vi ...</a>Those police officers are exaggerating big time, and I bet they knew the guy was a student, they just wanted to give him a lesson.Anyone knows what did they do to them?
ubergeek09Nov 10, 2007
Yeah, they really shouldn't be cops.
bono4uNov 16, 2007
so there was no college personal which could handle a situation with a lost, stolen or forgeten id? where were the teachers? i would say they were the real cowards. The kids were mmm ... well educated ... stay out of trouble, don't mess up with the police don't be exspelle. What would be if this kid have had any health problems ... weak heart, epileptic, ... could have come worse and i think it is only a matter of time then it will come worse.
bono4uNov 16, 2007
Not all policemen are morons, i for myself am thankfull that anyone does this s**t piece of job.3) there are some who do it out of idealism4) there are some who didn't know to do anything otherwise5) there are many with other reasons

If you really want to help this kid, we need to vote Right now on the National Instiative. We are lossing are rights left and right. This kid was no threat to anyone there. www.ni4d.usyou can vote right now to give us the right to make and vote on laws. Im sick of seeing stuff like this. Just like that one kid that was using his free speach at flodria and they teased him. On this video you will hear one of the officers telling some one to get back or you will teased to. The kid was just talking to an officer about what they did to this kid. This has nothing to do with how weak the kid is from getting teasered everyone reactst to pain differently the point is this kid was not a threat and they treated as if he was a threat.Revoultion Time, brothers and sisters.
