The power of the "social web" is amazing. It's made clear simply by the outcome, where one had access to social network and was set free, and the other who did not and is still held somewhere.
Yes, part of the reason I think this is an interesting story (aside from the happening itself), is the fact that CNN mentions Twitter in the first place. They describe it in a fairly accurate manner and they mention bloggers without being condescending.
