Well it's a guide to Zelda it isn't exactly petite. As for it being too big it's split by dungeon and level at the table of contents so it's more segmented then text guides. It's true you can CTRL+F up and down a text guide more quickly, but it seems more impersonal and hearder to read. This offers an alternative to scanning endless text, and I for one like that. For throwing together a text version of the guides I kinda doubt it. A big goal of StrategyWiki is to replace long text based articles not give you another source of them.

I think this could be a great use for the wiki technology. Yes, Game FAQ's are great however I see its slow to update and dependent on a single person to update their info. Perhaps someone has a better way to kill the boss on level 5? They can enter in some notes about it live.

No, you raise a good point, but thanks to the removal of text-only limits there are many ways around such issues. The simplest is a combined short and long walkthrough:http://strategywiki.net/wiki/Grand_Theft_Auto:_San_Andreas/Missions/OG_LocAt the top is a "kill this guy then go there" sort of speed walkthrough for those just wanting to get a hint in the right direction, and below that is a lengthy full walkthrough for those who are badly stuck or don't want to miss anything. Here's another possible presentation method:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Dynamic_navigation_boxWith that, spoiler-style info can be included and yet hidden (the template can be set to the "closed" state by default) until when and if the reader wants it.And if all else fails another whole new page could be made. For example when writing a Thief walkthrough (this game has adjusted objectives at each difficulty level) you would have separate pages for each way of going through that level, rather than entirely separate guides to present those different methods. If StrategyWiki was hosting a sole plain-text guide for each game this would be a fatal mistake. As it is, the freedom offered by CSS and subpages means most problems can be worked around.
