dallasnews.com— Veteran Dick Agnew knows all eight other Dallas-area members of the Legion of Valor, and he knows their cars – each with a special marking on the license plate to recognize the honor.

They should go after these pricks for fraud, obtaining property by false pretenses and the Stolen Valor Act.It's sick man.I do find it hard to believe that there isn't some form of central database that shows who has earned these awards though. Hopefully they'll fix that soon.
They are pathetic - but many of them actually served their country and never got recognition for that. Especially the Viet Nam era veterans. They were treated like crap and that is wrong. It doesn't excuse what they are doing. Claiming awards that are not earned is sad and pathetic. But maybe we, as a country, ought to look back and remember that ALL of our veterans served their country and should be given a bit of respect and honor for that service - not just those that won the awards.
We have always treated our Veterans like s**t, especially since Vietnam. The sorry bastards can't even keep an official organized record of recognized military heroes. Think about that before you advocate turning your health records and health care over to them!!!
My nephew was in the first Iraq conflict. He will only say he was a door gunner in a Huey.He then will tell you.... "You don't want to know any more than that".He's never talked about his experiences, including his medals.I call him a hero, he calls himself a Marine.
I saw the shame and pain in returning soldiers' eyes as people literally ignored them or spit on them. It was terrible. I hope we've gained some perspective since then. And, as one person noted, bragging about their exploits was not what any I knew ever did. Some dealt with terrible memories (many did, actually).
