news.com.com— That ear-piercing ring you hear in a restaurant might not be somebody who forgot to set their cell phone to vibrate.

Let's see...so making it harder to steal a cell phone is a good thing, but making it harder to steal music, movies, and software is a bad thing... yep, makes sense alright.
I lost my phone coming out of Yankee Stadium and someone picked it up, answered it when I called and mailed it back to me at their expense. I thought for sure I'd find a billion dollars worth of calls on it.Personally I don't know why you'd need a service for this, why couldn't you just have a phone based app that you could text message a secret code to and it emit the noise, would be handy for locating a lost phone although I doubt the efficacy for stolen phones.
"That ear-piercing ring you hear in a restaurant might not be somebody who forgot to set their cell phone to vibrate."And that's precisely why I avoid restaurants... and not because one stands a higher chance of getting food poisoning because Juan Martinez forgot to wash his hands after taking a crap before coming back to prepare your dinner.
