arstechnica.com— Valve thinks that PC gaming is strong, and getting better. The Steam service is about to evolve in an unexpected way: allowing you to access your games, files, and configurations from any PC, anywhere.

Your games won't "go away". Valve has stated that if something were to ever happen to them they have in place a [tested] system that will disable all protections on all of your games so you can continue to play and enjoy them.
Same with Source Dedicated Server options (LAN) even though you try to start it up under LAN you still need to be on the net to start it.Also when you try to start Steam offline under Wine 1.0 it has the annoying "Updating Steam" box which never goes away and refuses to go into Offline mode.

When are Valve (and other game developers) going to stop pretending that minorities don't exist? If a store were to decide that just because a group is a minority they don't have to serve them we'd all go berserk (like what happened recently with that ford dealership recently), I don't really see how its different when it comes to game software. If the software that I write didn't work equally well on windows mac and linux I'd lose my job, why is it that game companies get a free pass to discriminate?http://xn--ggbla3do.xn----ymcae0df5a6fo.com/page-5 ...http://xn--ggbla3do.xn----ymcae0df5a6fo.com/page-1 ...http://xn----ymcae0df5a6fo.com/

If I had access to my previously saved game, I could of finished the game and probably would have bought the Orange Box to get parts 1 and 2.http://quitsmokingclub.org
