1up.com — Has Valve's Steam really been hacked? 1UP speaks with the hacker, a software security expert, and Valve itself to get the full story. "This looks real to me," said the security expert. "He found a way into [Valve's] Cyber Caf? software." Possibly concerning? "I don't know yet what I am going to do with all the information...yet," said the hacker.

I don't think it was their server's that were slow assed, I think it was your connection that was slow-assed.

Holocaust, why on earth would the page be changed if that was his real info ? Your logic confuses me.That page is not associated with MaddoxX at all.MaddoxX's former webpage/forums were located at <a class="user" href="http://emp.damage-web.net/">http://emp.damage-web.net/</a> which are now down. The problem here lies with the Dutch authorities being reticent in prosecuting a 17 year old. Previously, he was only involved in software theft. Now that he has compromised financial data, that puts him into another category of "f**ked" altogether. His age is not going to save him from prosecution this time...

TexasCanuck,"MaddoxX's former webpage/forums were located at <a class="user" href="http://emp.damage-web.net/">http://emp.damage-web.net/</a> which are now down."Well, no-steam.org and <a class="user" href="http://emp.damage-web.net/">http://emp.damage-web.net/</a> is the same exact website, the no-steam is just easier to type I guess that is why it is used as a linker to the emp one..."Holocaust, why on earth would the page be changed if that was his real info ? Your logic confuses me."I don't know, but I am pretty sure if he claims to be all stealthy and what not that he will not leave such a careless error laying around like that.

Until Steam actually runs on a platform people want to use this decade instead of the platform people wanted to use last decade, Steam sucks by default.

"concerning"<a class="user" href="http://www.askoxford.com/concise_oed/concerning">http://www.askoxford.com/concise_oed/concerning</a>I've been seeing this term misused quite a bit lately, and it is *concerning*. Try these instead:<a class="user" href="http://m-w.com/cgi-bin/thesaurus?book=Thesaurus&va=troublesome">http://m-w.com/cgi-bin/thesaurus?book=Thesaurus&va=troublesome</a>

Are you saying all video games should be free?

It seems to be common knowledge that the steam servers are slow as mutt. 8 hours on my 10mb commercial cable line at work goes to prove this. (I downloaded it after hours, and was the ONLY use of bandwidth at the time)Not being familiar with Steam at the time, I assumed 'internet connection required' was meant to verify a license key, not download the entire game.
