That's a great link. I wouldnt say they look amateurish, but most of them are quite gaudy. I'm all about cool looking home theaters, but it's sort of white-trashy to make theme rooms. Just like those STD filled theme hotels you see on TV commercials.

Awesome. . . went all the way with theme, decor, and effects. . . . but it looks like he skimped on the AV, and the round stargate portal for the screen doesn't allow for nice framing or a very large image size. The projection was not well hidden and looks pro-sumer level at best. I would love to have it, don't get me wrong, but with $70K, I would have spent more on the equipment that's going to be what you're actually looking at or listening to, %90 of the time you're in there.

I love the stargate series, but this is ridiculous. 70K for just that? I mean really, atlantis isn't even in production anymore except for maybe a movie or two. you could literally BUY sections of the set for less than that. The design itself is close but not close enough to atlantian design, it just looks horribly tacky. It's pretty tacky to watch a square video on a roundish screen...you'd think 70k would of at least included a projector lense that would cut off the corners to match the star gate. stargate is practically dead, all we have hope for now is stargate universe and even that may not last more than a season or two. If you had built this say, season 1 of atlantis, I would of said awesome. but that was nearly several years ago. what are you going to do? watch avatar in your SG themed theatre?
