cinemablend.com — Star Wars fans, you might want to plug your ears and hibernate for the next little while. It's been reported that Star Wars: A Musical Journey will be entertaining/terrorizing London theatergoers starting next year, featuring "a Stormtrooper kick line and singing Wookiees [with] John Williams' Oscar-winning score."

I think the real question is "How much more can you ruin a series?". This new cutesy Star Wars strategy with the animated movie, TV series, and the lame turnout of EP 1,2, and 3, I'm starting to think it was only good in the 70's.

EW had a fake article about this a few years ago (maybe an April Fool's Day edition?) I remember something about a musical segment based on Jabba's "I like Captain Solo where he is."This will do well, and I will die a little more inside. It kind of makes one happy about what happened to Firefly.

just change the breathing a bit to be more rythmical and it will be an instant hit

Yeah... Bill Murray did it first, and best.

Say you have the most detailed, interesting, thought-provoking Space Opera on one end of the scale -- let's say Iain M. Banks "Culture" series. Then you have the most puerile manipulative drivel on the other -- let's say some cheap Saturday-morning-cartoon sci fi (I'd name names but I don't want to offend anyone). The original Star Wars movie is pretty high on this scale for a mainstream hit movie. And it has plenty of potential as a franchise, as e.g. Bioware showed. It has problems in that it is a classic monomyth plot, but all in all it's well directed, well acted, and has a good sense of place.Every time they make a "Clone Wars" it makes it harder to get decent product further up the scale. If you are a sci-fi nut you are kind of escapist, and such stuff really harshes your buzz. At some point the franchise could become worthless in terms of quality sci-fi because you can't get singing Yoda out of your head.I guess the answer is to go read Iain M. Banks! Next time you are in an airport bookshop looking for something for the flight, pick one up. Satisfaction guaranteed.
