Square isn't the only company offering such a product. Another competitor is http://www.paywaremobile.com/ and I remember another iPhone accessory manufacturer integrate a cc-processing feature into one of their sleeves (they showed it off at the CES). Wish I remembered the last one, cause I like that idea the best: combine something people already buy (the sleeve) with a cool new feature and a nice API.The Square looks really flimsy to me, so meh.

It would be better if you could also use that to pay for online items, so you swipe instead of typing in the numbers.

it would seem that in order to have someone sign easily, they would need to at least grasp the iPhone with their other hand, if not hold it.

Anyone who voted with his dollars for such a horses**t design doesn't really have the credibility to complain.

Why don't you invest in a keyboard that has a working Shift key?

I wonder if it'll even work with the bulls**t headphone jack on the first-gen iPhones.

Waiting for Android app to use this on my Droid. (which just happens to have a 3.5mm headphone jack as well)

factsahoy: What? I'm not sure what you're referring to. You can interface with the dock using the iPhone External Accessory protocol. This has been around since last June.
