For my last MBA class in the spring, corporate strategy, my group's project paper advocated a strategic option of migrating T-Mobile's current network technology to WiMax to provide not only data but also voice services. At the time, this was seen as a long shot, something that we hoped had been structured to allow us to effectively use the tools of strategy analysis we learned in class. While Sprint has been talking about WiMax for some period and though they did not mention voice, I am intrigued to see a major wireless carrier attempt to evolve their network in this direction. I am curious to see how this plays out.
