what you are bragging about, New Yorkers? In many ways Hong Kong is way less awesome and glamorous than most other international cities in the world, and thats coming from a guy who has lived in HK.1) skyline: Yes I agree the skyline is awesome. But that's because there is virtually no land in the Island apart from that pathetic flat land 1 km stretched from the mountain slope.2) Quality of living: the city looks glamorous until you look at some statistics. Average local graduates earn less than the minimum wage in Europe, and there is NO MINIMUM WAGE in HK. And the lifestyles of Hong Kong people are so consumerist and urban that they lost their ability to appreciate the nature before they can have one.And don't give me all that LKF and party scene bulls**ts. Yes I party too but most local people don't even know what a house party is. Clubs and pubs are still predominately a white idea. How many local people have you seen in LKF anyway compared to the huge population of HK?Hong Kong has nothing like the central park that integrates so perfectly with the city. Most people don't even exercise. Hell i don't even know why the HK population has the longest longevity. 3) Lack of variety: the buildings of Hong Kong follow a pragmatic approach. Besides the tallest buildings like the one Batman jumped off which are internationally famous, most buildings focus on functionality and are pretty boring. Walking in a normal hong kong street is not as exciting as walking in London or New York where many buildings are as much an art and epitome of history as the city itself. And no, there is no campus as pretty as Georgetown or Boston College4) IQ. Some people are saying HK has the highest average IQ. I don't doubt that, as long as the test taking skill is concerned. Like the rest of Asia, HK having the highest IQ is because Asians generally work harder and have an exam culture, which give a premium to IQ ranking. However, most HK students have very bad study ethics (eg not focusing on originality, creativity, focusing on exam results while ignoring the purpose of why they study, embarrassing presentation skills like most asians, not having an international outlook, etc)5) Business Environment: Hong Kong is heavily financially oriented. While this means a bright prospect for finance students, it also pisses many students with alternate talents off. Many people are forced to do something they don't like as a result, while the lucky ones find other ways to liberate themselves (eg moving out)6) Many HK guys are short and effeminate and girls are flat and boring. Now beat that!now thats my $0.02
they should blow up their mountains like what they did on the island where they built their new airport and build more skyscrapers on the leveled off land where the mountains used to bealso, they can use the dirt from the blown up mountain to expand their island, then build more skyscrapers on those new areai mean the new airport was pretty much on a human made island anyway
The building still in construction on the left will be even taller than IFC the bright tower in between. Together they will form a kind of Twin Tower across the harbor. Looking over from Causeway bay, that will be magnificent.

Chongqing, shanghai are all more impressive than hong kong in the skyscraper department. Then you have cities like Shenzhen which is bloody massive.
