I'm happy to see that there is a renewed interest in the space program. I remember the first shuttle launches where almost everyone was glued to their TV sets. And recently, it's no more than a passing thought. It's still a technical marvel to be able to go into space and I will always be awestruck by the incredible work that is put into each launch. Good work, NASA!
ditto what shiberving said. These are all photo's from cameraphones, the kind of low quality crap that shows up on twitter. Anyone with a DSLR grabbed better shots, I'm sure of it.

Re-entering the atmosphere at upwards of 17,000 mph does = balls of steel, whether the astronaut is male or female.
