So so true. As in, I large percent of kids with "ADD or ADHD" don't really have it, they're probably just spoiled brats since they're used to their parents giving them whatever they want.Although I agree a little physical disipline is fine, that is a little extreme. The best way to disipline kids is simply consistency and making sure they relize what they did wrong, and why they're being punished.
My parents said that back when they were in school there wasn't such a thing as ADD. They just got hit. If my kids have ''ADD'' they're totally getting this treatment. Cause if they don't porque si no se comportan alguien va a conseguir golpe en la boca
What's worse?Giving naturally-energetic-and-bored-in-the-classroom children regulated doses of amphetamines (adderal, dexidrine, ritilin...) every single day so they sit quietly in a drug induced state?Or slapping them around a few times when they go way over the line?
justnick, Are you just being anal or do you not know what I meant? "inverted commas" are quotation marks. I was making a "scare quote" as the dictionary linked defines it.http://www.thefreedictionary.com/inverted%20commaAnyway let the point be from all my poorly punctuated ramblings that: Hitting a child in the head and yelling at them IS child abuse. It is never acceptable behavior (let alone to be praised) to hit a child in the head. I mean DUH! why would anyone defend that!?South Park is hilarious and I'm including this episode, I loved it.It's satire, the whole joke is that you are not supposed to treat children with problems like that.
With all respect, it doesn't sound like you are a genuine ADHD case. Plenty of "normal people" are able to multitask in the manner you describe. In a genuine ADHD case this "multitasking" would be to the point that they were unable to perform any of the tasks successfully. If you are able to complete university without drugs, then you most likely don't have ADHD.Personally, I see ADHD as more of a spectrum like autism. Everyone has it in varying degrees but it should only be treated if it is seriously affecting your life.
What kids need these days is a good gaggin'. Simply get'em in a headlock then repeatedly ram your finger down their throat and just gag the living hell outta them. It'll ensure negative associations with purposeful gagging, so they'll be more likely to avoid bulimia later in life.
First of all, we all wonder why there is so much violence and hatred in the world today, yet so many of you hear are advocating violence against children. "Let's teach our kids how to be peaceful, thoughtful, intelligent human beings by smacking them around when they don't behave" NICE!I have two teen-aged boys, one with ADHD and I have never laid a hand on either of them. They do as a I say because they respect me, not because they fear me. I am by no means a perfect parent, but I know the difference between parenting and violence. I'm saddened to see so much indifference and even reference to the "good ole days" when parents would beat their children. Know wonder the world is so f*cked up.As far as the meds for kids with ADD or ADHD, would you withhold insulin from your child with diabetes? These are psychological conditions that need to be treated. Some people can do fine with behavior modification and other non-medicinal treatments, some can't. We put off the meds for my son until he was in 7th grade (he was diagnosed in 3rd grade) because we were having some success with it and didn't want to use meds as a first defense. However as school work got more demanding, and as pre-teen hormones kicked in, we could no longer provide the help he needed without meds. Kudos to those who can. Some can't. You risk depression and by the way, teen boys with ADD are one of the highest risk groups for suicide. NO THANKS!Please everyone, don't blast people who are dealing with this if you don't know what you are really talking about. If you did know what you were talking about, you wouldn't be so judgmental.
I did my PhD on web CBT at a children’s hospital. One mom said "This is perfect and what me and my family have been waiting yearsfor. My 9 yr old has A.D.H.D and presents behavioural difficulties” Now others are finding other uses for the product. The funding was stopped due to cut backs and also it is easy to give drugs than time..But...www.AnimalAgentz.com is now on lineAny suggestions on how i tell the world about this? (blogs etc). Best mark Email: m@animalagentz.comWhen we recently conducted an independent trial of our product, we found parents had many more applications for which they used Animal Agentz. The Animal Agentz behaviours are as follows:Breathing skills; taught by a fishStretching skills; taught by a dogDistraction skills; taught by a catGuided imagery skills; taught by a monkeyPositive self statements; taught by a lionThe parents applied these behaviours in new ways to help their child.Always ask your doctor how best to use Animal Agentz.Responses from independent research:"This is perfect and what me and my family have been waiting yearsfor.
