Their fear of 'militant' Democrats is projection. Shutting down dissent and open discussion have been the Republican way for years now. Remember how they behaved when they controlled both the House and Senate? We look forward to open discussion and dissenting views. It's the only way to keep everyone honest and we've seen how disastrous one-party rule can be.
