0nly ANNOUNCED in japan. It is a good indication of a future price cut in the US.

DAMN, just when you think Sony has lost touch with reality....

Um, just one question. They added HDMI to the low end model right...That would mean that they've not started, or just started manufacturing these (or at least the low end model)...It's darn near October! Which means that the price drop is nice and everything. But it would seem that there won't be enough made to satisfy any region before launch (unless they are all going to be sold in Japan).

This means even greater losses for Sony on every system sold...

God I wish we could contest the "Flagged as Inaccurate" tag. This story is 100% accurate, nowhere does it claim that the price drops are valid in the US.And by the way, just because it hasn't been announced, doesn't mean the US and/or other territories won't see a price cut.

The only way I believe it will happen is reactionary. Only MS can force them into it.

Why are people complaining about the wii? I remember paying $211 for the N64 $211 for the dreamcast and $211 for the GC. 50 bucks more for thier next gen doesn't sound bad at all. Price vs value is normally assessed but it seems as if recently the gaming community has been to absorbed in numbers and automatically assuming the value of each of these systems? I wonder if this is a sign of things to come.

Only in Japan for now.
