tgdaily.com — How do you outmaneuver Apple's iTunes: By selling DRM-free music for less money than what you charge Apple. Sony is now selling its own and Universal's music on Dada.net, for 66-cents (15 songs for $10). Yeah, there is a footnote, but Apple can't be happy about this one. Do I smell a lawsuit?

Don't think Sony is doing away with DRM that quickly. This is a ploy to hurt Apple by dumping a product on the market and can be seen as an anti-competitive move. If Sony was to succeed in killing itunes the DRM would come right back. Also I am willing to bet that these files are fingerprinted.

Ok, so I click on a random song. They want a user name and your Mobile Phone number. WTF?

Apple wants to get rid of DRM, but the record labels are are only allowing drm-free music to competitotrs to loosen apple's grip. There are plenty of articles on the web about it.
