It sounds like this profit has more to do with the success of the PSP. Says they are actually increasing the projection from 10 million to 13 million sold.
video game hardware is very unique in the tech industry in that it is designed to be around as is for years. There is a certain patience that Sony can afford to have, while good releases trickle out and make the system more attractive
A Blu-ray player that uses less energy & plays games? I'll wait until a slim model comes out before I buy a second for myself. I'll probably buy my grandmother once since she doesn't even have a DVD player yet.
