hometheaterblog.com — Sony’s BDP-S1 has been delayed, again, three times to be exact. (at least that’s my count) Originally scheduled for release on August 15th the player was then bumped back to October 25th and now SonyStyle.com states new window “Targeted Availability: On or about December 4, 2006”.

Seeing how the initial reviews of both HD-DVD and Blueray movies rate the picture quality as not much better than DVD even on the newest 1080P TV I'm glad there is a delay. Get the damn thing right and then sell it for a reasonable price not $1000, come on sony, stop sucking.

we still haven't forgiven Sony for beta tape machines.

considering that the ps3 uses blu-ray, i would be worried for that launch (either delay, or extremely crap drive)

Howdy folks,Just wanted to pop by and say that Blu-ray is full-on technological abortion, all raw red and bloody. Everything you want and need in an next gen format can be found in HD-DVD which is already much more widespread, less expensive, and performant.Let's all send a nice big message to Sony that they can cram Blu-ray right up their frickin' arses.

The blue ray burner is going to cost a fortune like all early technologies. If I were you, I would wait until it becomes more economically accessible. Unless you want to beat everyone at the punch ;) and then I'm like your best friend.
