techspot.com — "You'd figure Sony would concentrate on getting their existing two models of PlayStation 3 into peoples homes before developing a third, but that isn't the case. Sony is looking to introduce a multimedia-oriented PlayStation 3 soon, designed to be a multimedia center rather than as a gaming console" -TechReport . Hey Sony, FIX THE CURRENT VERSION!!

A lack of quality games isn't an "only thing wrong", its an every thing wrong with a game system.

Well at launch if someone wants a console + HD player, it would be cheaper to go with the ps3.PS3 core (same features as the Xbox prem) is basically 399 + a 100 dollar hd player. Whereas if they would have sold it separately the bundle would cause probably an extra 100 making it 599 like the 360 does. Although some people might not want it, it is cheaper for the option for those that do.

Its fundamental design as a game system is flawed, why do you suppose they are already talking about changing it.The reason most cross platform games look better on 360 is because most PS3 developers are only using single general purpose processor. The cell processor has bottleneck written all over it and it has less available memory to boot. Talk of building a multimedia centric version is just their way of acknowledging that they haven't built a game system but a multimedia hub.

You can't count PS3 sales towards Blue-ray sales. How many many people actually bought a PS3 as a Blue-ray player? How many people do you think even bought the PS3 as a DVD player? I know I have a 360 and I'm using it as my DVD player but that is *only* because I don't feel like moving wires around to hook my DVD player back up in place of my 360. Even if the 360 did come default playing HD DVD's, I wouldn't buy HD DVD's. Face it, Blue-ray is losing the next gen race. The easiest proof is going into any store and just looking. You will see many more HD DVD players and many more HD DVD movies. True, neither HD DVD and Blue-ray are doing well, but HD DVD is still doing better.

OMG! another reasonable person that brings logic and market history into play. Your fighting an uphill battle my friend people here are hypocrites (or MS employees)"PS3 and blu-ray sucks cause its $600." "360 and HD-DVD periphial are awesome" (also $600)"PS3 isn't selling." Yet no phone numbers or addresses to thier local Gamestop or bestbuy......I can't believe this sight with it's popularity could be filled with such fanboyish s**t. Which is why I think a lot of the people are MS employees.
