Further reports show there's a problem producing enough laser diodes for Blu-ray burners, and consumers will have to wait till January 2007 before Blu-ray really kicks off.

Hard to see where a situation that leaves Sony holding all the Blu-Ray diodes is a case where SONY has a problem. Or even Blu-Ray for that matter, given the market share for $1k Blu-Ray players is probably going to be kind of low compared with $500 PS3's. Now if you'd said goodbye Toshiba... well that wouldn't make any sense either.

No matter how much money I have, I will never have enough that I would set a match to it willingly.I keep the useless box of 100 or so Betamax tapes I accumulated to remind me of why quality isn’t the only factor in format wars. Remember DVD didn’t really take off until Divx and it’s ridiculous DRM got out of the picture.
