joeldowns.com — New information about scaled-back shipments of launch games that could make the PS3 even less attractive. Top-tier titles will only ship 100,000 copies by year-end, so games will be scarce, and publishers' profits will take a beating.

aside from it being a more cost intensive pressing proceedure, which has been plagued by production problems for a long time. when sony was making a big huff about blue ray a year ago, it said it would be able to mass press the discs at all but the highest capacity formats before spring 06 to coincide with their spring 06 release of ps3. it's been a while and we have a ps3 with less power than they said it would, fewer ports, fewer features, copycat innovation, and now apparently not even enough games for the poor saps that buy the systems to even be able to get the games.if they only have 100k games at launch, and only 400k systems in the wild, does that mean that there's going to be 75% of ps3 owners with nothing to play on their 600 dollar wonderbox?

Well, that says it all.All these Wiitarded Sony bashers think they rule the world by digging stories & blogs. They really think they share the same opinion as the rest of the world (as in non diggers).Just let 'm. You can't do s**t about it. Even when they have to admit the PS3 is a fine machine, they'll stick to the thing they do best: throwing sticks & stones.

"Here is my take: 80% of the xbox 360s bought durring its launch window were re-sold on ebay"You know this is the problem with today's "connected" society. People make comments all day long with numbers and figures they pull right out of their assh**es with no sources and no credibility and less informed individuals eat it up. 80%.... Are you retarded? Perhaps 10%, but 80%? What an idiotic statement. Now if you had said that 80% of people bought the "Death of Superman" Comic book back in the day simply because they thought it would increase in value, I could buy that but to say that 8 out of every 10 XBOX360s bought at launch were sold on Ebay is plain stupid.

Sony is launching because they have no choice. If they delay to 2007 when they will actually have a decent number of units and software available they will lose so much mindshare that it will be the end of the line. The hardcore Sony faithfull will deal with chasing around after the console but if they don't at least launch the unit in low numbers people will start defecting en masse. They are choosing the lesser of two evils because after ALL the bad press they are going to have even worse press this fall. The line will be all about how Sony pushed the system out the door after all the missteps.Cause unfortunately the "missteps" and the posibility of Sony going to crap and droping from Hero to Zero has become "the" story. They need to give the Sony fans HOPE. Thats all that is going on

Source for info that Sony can't make BluRay discs: sketchy at best.Reported as inaccurate.
