gamespot.com — The recent article that took fire on Digg claiming that Sony raised the price of the PS3 in Canada is debunked. Sony has nothing to do with the retailers' move. Not that this is likely to be seen by anyone anyway, since it's not blindly slamming the system.

For the record, ANYTHING could compete with anything.I think you meant "Can't compete and win".Even then, I don't know if that works... All Xbox 360 needs to fail is a few bad business decisions.Even so, I hope both companies start dropping prices of the older systems so I can have a full set. You too nintendo. ^_^

I'm surprised that this made it to the front page. I was wrong for putting my opinion in the description like that- wrong for doing it and apparently wrong period.I was just tired of arguing with people that Sony didn't raise the price before this article popped up is all. I've seen too many situations like this where a false story was a top story and the truth never even got out.

Don't forget pro-Apple and very, very liberal.

Just remember that the price of the Wii in UK converts to $350US so it's not exactly unprecendented to be paying more for something here.

my buddy works at Best Buys and said they raised the price of the system becasue no one is buying them. The few that do sell may make up for the load they don't sell. Not sure if i trust him but he does have PS3 and thinks it so-so.take it as you will

They've raised the price everywhere I've been. Seems the 20GB model has been discontinued at a few places as well.
