sony should just release something that allows users to install their own software, but enforce the games protection, i know this would be hard to do. but with all the money they're wasting on remaking the firmwares with reasons for people to get the lastest they could easily do it

Yet another reason to get a DS over a PSP.

If Sony would give alittle and let us code, we could really make some awesome apps that would make the PSP a hotter seller and Sony would make a lot of extra money with Zero effort, locking the system just makes us work harder, PROUD OWNER OF USA 1.5 A SYSTEM that was Downgraded to 1.5 from 2.0 for SNES EMU use

As predicted, the war continues. It still makes me angry that Sony feel that they "own" the product after it leaves the factory. As pointed out, that is absolutely assinine. And I don't see why they are so against home brew emulators. It only makes the PSP more valuable, at no cost to Sony. And let me pre empt here. "Well, they would be buying more games if the couldn't play emulated stuff". BUZZZZ Wrong, sorry, thanks for playing. Almost all of these folks buy the games they want anyway. They may buy a few less at the margins, but relatively few. That potential loss of income would be made up by increased interest in the system.

This could be on a UMD movie too, BTW, there's no reason it has to be limited to games.

I would have bought a PSP by now, except that my work wouldn't allow us to buy them at cost price from the first shipments. So I've been waiting to get mine. But while I waited, I've done a lot of digging and a lot of reading, and now I'm 100% certain: I DON'T WANT A PSP. I don't want anything to do with Sony. Stuff you Sony. From now on I'll be going else-where for my: Digital entertainment, Music, Stereos, TVs, Cameras, and anything else that I would in the past have gone with Sony for. Of course, I still sell a lot of PSPs and other Sony stuff... Hehe, they run some pretty good sales incentives...

Further to what I just wrote, this forum just helped me find out about the GP2X. It looks GREAT! I'm all excited and thinking of marketing them here in New Zealand! Is it only in the UK? I just googled it, and the first site that came up was from the UK. Obviously I need to do some more research.

Now that's strange: checkit:<a class="user" href="http://www.gpx2.com">http://www.gpx2.com</a> and<a class="user" href="http://www.gp2x.co.uk">http://www.gp2x.co.uk</a>So which is it? GP2X or GPX2??

gp2x sucks so learn some more about consoles before you come here and talk

Why don't all you people who shout GP2x stfu? That's even more illegal than the psp. It condones emulation and playing of emulated games 90% of which is illegal (do u own those games?~) and they violated the GPL agreement of Linux (the ultimate sin of all.) So keep dat donkey balls to yourself known as the GP2X! It suxx|
