Yes, without further doubt it can be said that if a particular game, for example Ratchet And Clank, runs on the unlocked CPU, the battery's power capacity would be drastically affected, unless and until Sony or another manufacturer comes up with a revolutionary way to create another type of Lithium-ion battery which would hold more power than the current ones. Already there are high-capacity lithium-ion batteries for PSP available in the market. In case you didn't notice, PSP's default battery is a 1800 mAH and there is another 3800 mAH battery available that, when combined with your 1800 mAH, can provide the psp with the combined power of 1800+3800 mAH = 5600 mAH, which does dramatically extend your gaming sessions three times longer. With Sony still trying to push themselves to the limit and bringing us innovations and new technology one by one, I wouldn't be surprised if sooner or later they invent a 5600 mAH battery and include it with the upcoming re-designed slim PSP.
I was enjoying games and homebrew on the PSP to the fullest until I bought a PS3. After playing the exclusive ps3 titles, obviously one would care less about playing games with ps2 quality graphics on any console of any kind whatsoever. Nowadays I don't even care to try out new games on PSP anymore, and WII games don't deserve my time and attention LOL. All I do is store songs and music videos on my 4 GB card, although Guitaroo Man, DJ Max Portable and afterburner are two games that would never die, not at least to someone who likes music, even if a little.
Hi, there is nothing wrong with admitting your inability to afford a PSP but um by the way wake me up when you can play games like Transformers, Afterburner, Guitaroo Man and Rachet And Clark with PS2 quality graphics and play full movies, dvd-movie backups and mp3 files on DS. Until and unless you wake me up when DS includes these features, I will bitch-slap any and every DS/Wii old gay girlie Paper Piss Mario fanboy who comes in my way. Oh one more thing, please tell your fathers at Nintendo to stretch the DS's sceen size too.
It would be nice if they came out with an optional speed step setting like they did for mobile Intel processors a few years ago. If you had the speed step setting enabled, it would slow down the clock on the processor while you were on battery power. If you had the laptop plugged in, the speed would jump up to full throttle.
I think that the reason why they're unlocking it is to prep for the PSP revision. Improved battery life is something they're touting for it, so why not give developers the power to make their games look, (or play), even better? That way, when the "PSP Slim" releases, it won't only look good aesthetically, it'll seem like a whole new system.Check out this to download psp games: http://pspgames247.com

exactly. Nintendo realized people want gaming devices to have fun with, not be an overpriced media device or an over hyped portable media device.
