1up.com — "The reason Sony didn't incorporate rumble into SIXAXIS wasn't related to a lawsuit over patent rights, but because it was a 'last generation feature,' according to Sony's president of worldwide studios Phil Harrison." Oh, Sony, you're too much.

Sony is a company who, like many of its fans, are in denial and are desperately in need of an intervention. Listen to your selves, you sound like the women who defend the men who beat the s**t out of them and wait faithfully for them to get out of prison cause things will be different this time. Sony has lied consistently and purposefully to everyone about everything about the PS3 from the start. Release dates, configurations, cost, capabilities and now backward compatibility that I heard them promise with my own ears. Sony doesn’t care about games or gamers’ but it has been seen around town with a tramp named Blue ray. Get a clue; what do you need video tape.

All I know is that when God of War 2 comes out, I'm playing it on PS2, not PS3. I can't imagine playing that game without rumble.

WTF was there a gap in between contracts? We had almost a week with few opinion piece sony bashing digg articles then all of a sudden this. Rumble isn't needed. Why? Because it was lame from the start. Zomibe bites me...my hands shake........my car hits the wall....my hands shake....I get bonus points.....my hands shake.....how the hell does that make it more immersive? It was a lame feature from the word go.....and I always turned it off.

That's funny... I have a 46" Samsung DLP HD... are you suggesting I go get a Sony TV? The XBR3... which costs... how much more... and the resolution is how much WORSE?

This may just be my opinion, but my whole take on Sony's strategy was never to make a console in the continuation of the Playstation brand. I honestly believe that they whored out the Playstation brand to market Blu-Ray to customers. Everything they're doing with the gaming aspect of the system is half-assed, yet they're pumping every dime into the Blu-Ray addition. Does anyone else see this or is it just me? They're doing a lot of things that would completely piss most gamers off who want the system to game with, yet they're pushing the Blu-Ray experience like it's no tomorrow. They whored out the PSX brand to market a format weren't completely confident in...it makes perfect sense now! As it relates to the topic about rumble, sony could care less about a damn controller, they want you to load up on those Blu-Ray movies and maybe a custom remote...that's where they make most of their money at. Sony has made it clear they don't really care about gaming any more and they want Blu-Ray to succeed no matter the cost. I'm open to disagreement, but the mistakes Sony is making in the gaming department are mistakes that not even a rookie startup company would make.

The key thing that Sony is missing is that when you go NextGen you are suppose to bring what worked from LastGen with you.

You are absolutely right. Sony has no belief in improving the gaming experience, just supporting it, kind of. This whole thing was a trojan horse for blu-ray. Sony stands to make BILLIONS (read again, BILLIONS) from a successful blu-ray format. You don't have to be a genius to see how this played out. Where else to put a blu ray player and get it into millions of people's homes? Put it in the PS3! Bingo! Except Sony severely underestimated the cost of blu-ray and the cell processor (which is perfect for movies, not for gaming logic). The rest, as you know it, is history!
