blog.wired.com — Sony Aus. said: "Wii is a core gaming device. It's a more fun, intuitive sort of product to pick up, where the PS3 is a broader entertainment solution; so you can have your fun, enjoyable gaming ... but then you have a whole suite of other applications ... such as Blu-ray media playback, the ability to access your music, access your photos...."

The theory makes sense. However, if that is truly their one and only goal, they should have released a barebones, more media-centric PS3 at $200-$300 to make it a knee-jerk purchase. Larger hard drives, motion-sensing controllers, and other gaming extras could be purchased as modular add-ons. That way, they could decisively win the format war by installing a large Blu-Ray customer base with the Playstation name. They might come in second on the console front, but winning the format wars would pay larger profits. I'm willing to bet that humans are still tactile creatures and want physical media to hold, showcase, pass on to friends and family, sell on Ebay, etc.. Tying a movie to one or even a limited number of computers/players in this download era still irks a lot of people.Instead, Sony decided to pursue both goals: console and format. The initial results on either front don't look good.

They'll promote him! Isn't that the Sony way?

Even Sony is admitting the truth now.

Why the f**k does Sony always have to be so different? Why not go with HD-DVD or maybe help work on that standard, why not SD instead of the stupid MemoryStick? I suppose the same people working at Sony who brought you Betamax are still kicking ideas around, huh?

Just like the dentist! Depending on what magazines they have.

That's what he intended to say, but since he actually said, the Wii is "more fun", "a more fun product" it gets a digg. We all know what he meant, but the wording was very tricky and he slipped up.
