joe0.com — Google?s search result relevancy is going down the drain. But not only theirs. All search engines are now being clogged with unbelievable amount of black hat search engine spamming. So, here is why I think this is happening and how search engines such as Google can solve this problem once for all.

Interesting; never knew that that is how it all worked; but I usually get what I'm searching for when I use google. guess now I will take notice if my search results appear less relevant; but I don't know if a ratings system would be something that google would want, especially if it threatened their rate of revenues.-RY

Well, in billion dollar industry it's logical to keep it going. But from the user perspective, imagine you'd have a search engines where pretty much everything would be rated by the whole world, meaning it would return almost 100% relevant results. All garbage would sink down to the bottom almost immediately after implementing this type of rating system..Challenge for Google would be to find the way to make profit without cheaters.

I think more powerful and spam-proof solution for Google is to use data from Google Toobar.Maybe google is already using it.

great article, I knew of this problem, and it's good to see someone inspired enough to write about it. But one thing, I support affiliate marketing, people are searching for information, and in some cases the best information has to be bought. I see how affiliate links can be looked at as millions of doorway pages, so perhaps search engines should try to distinguish affiliate links and not count them towards relevancy. Maybe they could also show a seperation in search results between businesses, information that costs, and websites with free content and access, which some may argue is what google is doing with the option for different search functions, like the search blog, search article, and search news functions.I like the idea for rating search results, but whats to keep those "black hatters" from developing a way to rate their own websites to the top again?Overall this was an excellent article! Thanks!
