It's not that American's are in love with oil. We're in love with cheap energy. And who wouldn't be? I guarantee if solar energy gets to a price point where it's competitive with oil, most Americans will happily switch over, simply because it's better for the environment. Most Americans are all for helping the environment, but they tend to be pragmatic about it. They want to help out, but can't see riding their bike the 45 miles to work.
