I think plastic bottles are just, if not more reusable because of the lid. Glass bottles also have potential of shattering when you drop them, creating an unsafe situation. Plastic bottles are also cheaper and easier to produce.And if you don't use them, throw them in the recycling bin, silly, or take them to your local grocery store and get your five cents back (depending on your state).
Yes, I'm fully aware of the fact that the glass was washed. Is that so unthinkable? My grandparents, who get their milk from a supplier about 4 houses down the road, have used the same glass bottles since approximately the 1950s.

You can get it in the grocery stores here in the western US.
