"Global Warming is quite often exaggerated. Reason for this is because of government funding to research global warming. People want money, so in order to get government funds, they better come up with some good facts that Global Warming exists, unless...no cash."I've found that teaching is often exaggerating. Reason for this is because of government funding to pay teachers.I've found that highway construction is often exaggerating. I find the the way global warming nay-sayers claim, (always with some kinda weird-assed, prideful scorn) that there is no proof of global warming, thus we can carry on our merry, unthinking way, totally embarrassing. My big hope is we run outta oil before we kill this poor 'ol beat-up planet.
dude this is an awesome idea, i wish digg had some sort of double digg option that you can only use once per week or something. anyways good read.stoops!
This would actually increase global warming. The predominate "greenhouse theory" of global warming states that gasses in the atmosphere absorb UV and visible light and radiate infrared. The infrared secondary radiation is what is fueling the warming trend. (That's if you believe in global warming, and you'd be right to have healthy doubts.) By painting roofs white, you'll reflect more radiation back into the atmosphere to be absorbed by greenhouse gasses. The only way to counter global warming under the greenhouse theory is to work to reduce greenhouse gasses, principally carbonaceous ones like CO2 and methane. Keeping your car tuned up so as to reduce unburnt hydrocarbon emission, and encouraging the use of biofuels is the best way to trend down these gasses. Expanding the investment in renewable energy sources like solar, tidal, geothermal, and promoting investment in new nuclear technologies is another.

Hey - what about bovine flatulence? Between active volcanoes and a billion cows farting - does it really matter what color you paint your roof?
