pcmag.com— The fuel-efficient Smart Car is (finally) on its way to U.S. shores. The Smart Car gets 60 mpg and can reach speeds of 85 miles per hour, and will range in price from $15,000 to $25,000 fully loaded.

Yeah, it's cheaper to buy a golf cart, but they aren't street legal and can't go highway speeds, or even city speeds. These things look like a death trap -- how do they perform in an accident? They seem a little pricey for such a small commuter car.
I'd totally buy one. I've known for a LONG time that driving big cars is a waste.Think about it, you're basically just paying for gas to drag around a bunch of extra metal with you. Most people rarely haul s**t with their trucks/suvs/vansetcAnd extra metal doesn't mean safer. A Mini Cooper is safer in a crash than most larger vehicles.Safety totally depends on the quality of the design, not the size of the vehicle.
want to see exactly how safe a asmart car is, look up Top Gear, the BBC TV show about cars, and they crashed one into a wall . it's posted here someone on google.

True the driver of the F150 would probably have to go to court after they buried the mini in the car since they couldn't extract the body.

lol you are an idiot. Here is what a post that actually contributes something to the conversation looks like ->http://digg.com/technology/Smart_Cars:_Coming_to_the_U.S.?creplyto=1247943#c1248855

Finally a sensible comment. It would be good for a 2-car family, as long as the commuter does not need to carry a whole lot with them.

Put a $2 tax on gas and see how much longer people will be driving SUV's then we can all buy sensible cars like this smart car.
