microsoft.com — It seems that the Office 12 Beta serial codes handed out for free by Microsoft work on any version of office. However, you can't be too sure if it will expire in February or not either way. Activate now, before they fix this bug!

Yeah, but you need those versions of Office in the first place to use the serial codes, and if you needed a serial code for Office then you must've downloaded it illegally (which means you should know how to get a serial illegally, and therefore you don't need this). The only thing is, if you can use Office 2007, why use another version? (I have Office 2003 installed, but that was just as a backup; I use 2007 normally).

You could borrow someone else's CD. You might not like office 2007.

oh yeh, and as for working on all versions .. it doesn't, it depends on things like what versions of office you've had previously installed and so on.also, depending on the distribution of the software (ie, office) it can still be illegal to have it installed without a legal copy on hand unless you have licensing such as a volume, corporate or some other type of license.

That is the point of this, the serial code given for free to install the public beta 2 of MS Office '07 can(supposedly, I haven't checked) be used to install previous versions of Office, which is most likely unintentional, if it really does work.

Agreed. I downloaded it and installed it yet I will wait for the final since Outlook messes up emails by removing the formating and placing the formating tags into the email.
