engadget.com — It apparently slipped beneath our FCC-radar, but a posting on Sling Community shows some interesting developments according to FCC filings. Sling Media's apparently planning at least three new devices (here, here, and here), the Tuner, AV, and Pro.

Reason from the CEO's Desk: http://www.slingcommunity.com/article/15121/... I've waited too long for the Mac OS X client. I just used a old windows box i had laying around with an extra tuner card and ran Orb (www.orb.com) to do the same thing (FREE). Though I have been looking at myTV.PVR by Eskape Labs, eyeTV from Elgato, and the TVMini from Miglia. I personally think Sling is too late to the game for Mac users. Their loss.

I know there's going to be the obligatory post about why Slingbox can't do HD, but lets just kill that conversation now by agreeing that uploading an HD stream (unless heavily downsampled) will choke your internet connection. However, being an HDTV owner, I'm looking forward to the Pro, because even if it can't stream HD, it should still allow you to have your HD content "pass through" your slingbox on the way from your HD cablebox/dvr to your TV through its new (supposed) component and/or HDMI outputs. This'll allow the SlingBox's to be in the proper place in your A/V "network", allowing your TV watching at your actual TV be like before the SlingBox was connected.
