everytime I use it with the iSight, for any length of time, the mike cuts off until I reboot... _including_ the latest version... I just tried it.

Download it and then when you run it for the first time, it will ask you to set up your account etc. If I'm wrong, please feel free to correct me. Hope that helps.

I LOVE SKYPE. I have lots of friends and family overseas and it really saves me a lot of money. And now with video, I can see their ugly mugs too! :-) Thank you Skype.

I'm still waiting on a linux version where the mic works. I still can't use Skype for anything more than a chat client. I can't seem to find any instructions to make skype work on a Fedora Core 5 system with KDE and Soundblaster 5.1 card. It's impossible!!!!!

This should be under 'Apple'. I blocked the Apple category and this is distinctly blockable.

Wtf, Skype keeps crashing on my machine. PowerMac G5 :(

Truthfully, it probably means that another linux version will not be released for another year. They only have two developers working on the linux client. Oddly enough, the development problem would be solved if they'd open the code for it.

Once eBay took over Skype it seemed that Linux was totally overlooked. It may not be mission critical in their eyes but they use it on their servers. This does save them money. The Linux version is at what - 1.3'ish or so? Insulting to say the least.Perhaps there should be a join effort by the Linux community to request updates to the Linux Skype client. At least they should release a relatively new'ish Beta.Or may a site could be setup with a petitioning for Linux support by Skypes parent company eBay.

What are you talking about? Flash 9 Beta is available for Linux as of a few days ago.
