No cult membership here either, and I own lots of Apple stuff. Mac Pro, Apple TV, iPhone, Airport Extreme, and iPod Shuffle. I love Apple's products, and if people are curious about switching, I educate them. Otherwise, I let people use whatever they want.

There actually is a kill switch in the Android Marketplace, but I believe that this only applies to apps you get through there, you can download and install apps from a website, your SD card, competing app stores (like Handigo), so unlike Apples App Store, there is no possiblity for abuse.
