Sorry, that's just the first line I think of when i hear the word egregious. It's from Seinfeld--sorry if that is too 90s of a reference for Digg :) Link: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Q74_Bvxi-Fg

I'm using an M-Audio, but I hear Asus has some nice units out as well now.

The Archos company is French and their products (like most electronics) are made in Asia, are you sure about Germans being involved?

Creative have been taking our money for years and delivering sub standard drivers/software. It is time they change their cavalier attitude to their customers. I have bought their products since 1986, as there was no real alternative. the last one was a Xfi Elite. I have recently bought a Asus Xonar PCI-E DX2. Now that's a card with some solid drivers and excellent performance. I will not buy Creative again, unless they change their ways and deliver a good quality product.

I see how Daniel_K has went against the EULA and made his own drivers from their IP... But, I don't think that is why this s**tstorm came about. He EASILY proved that Creative was purposely making their products not work with Vista correctly and to "force" them to buy a newer product. This is why I will NEVER purchase a Creative product again. Nor will I recommend them to anyone. The word of the community has a strong impact, and Creative knows that it will hurt their bottom line.
