@ ZippoWell, since the gamecube controller is only $5 more than the classic controller (at least, where I live) just get a GC controller instead of the classic....
Honestly, I fully expect Nintendo to add classic controller support to Gamecube games *eventually*. The current setup is probably to help them clear out old Gamecube controllers from stores.
