What's frustrating is that after the surprise 'hit' that FF 1 was, that instead of the movie producers going, okay - let's take this opportunity to make a really good movie and really bring in the fans and the money... you can instead hear them cackling like little kids who got away with something... let's put out another piece of s**t... they'll pay to watch ANYTHING!!!As for Galactus not working... anything will work if you do it right. If you could convincingly show this planet eating giant standing / walking / setting up a huge world eating machine in the middle of new york... that would be pretty menacing - purple helmet or not. The idea of a man giving up his world and his family in order to spare it from destruction by being turned into a god-lite being searching for worlds to feed it's just-less-than-god master and how the 'ants' of this one world defeat it... would be a good story. However Hollywood = non-creative garbage sitting on their loathsome spotty behinds squeezing blackheads = FF 2.
Growing up I had two loves, The Transformers and the Silver Surfer. I've still got over 200 Transformers toys and I have a nice sized collection of every Surfer book illustrated by Ron Lim (the series where he was freed from his exile and traversed the universe). So it's safe to say that the Transformers and the Surfer really make up a large part of my youth and teen years, respectively. Yet I have virtually no desire to see either of these movies. I wish I did. I really, really would love to enjoy these films. I mean I was thrilled once I heard there would be a new Transformers movie. And then to have a Silver Surfer film, I mean wow that's unexpected. But I know that the qualities I enjoyed most about each of those series just won't translate well to film. Especially not when all the defining aspects of the main characters are overlooked in favor of explosions. So I'm going to pass, I'll stick with my memories instead. At least those I can count on (for now).
"Seriously...does every story need an anti-American or Linux comment?"Paris Hilton, Jessica Alba, iPhone, Guitar hero, Ron Paul, Global Warming, Particle Physics.I think that about covers all the bases.
Yes, it's both sad and cool. Giant purple guy would have been fun, but you know, superhero movies have to be "realistic" these days.I'm surprised they could pull the Fantastic Four off at all. I'm even more surprised that they're trying to pull off The Transformers. I think it will be a disaster, but kids will probably still like it.Personally, I would have preferred a GI Joe movie. But I guess that's kind of a sensitive subject these days, the whole patriotic thing would not go over well right now! Unless they make the president a COBRA double-agent, etc.

I can't find a good Silver Surfer action figure out there. Anybody know where I can get one? The one at McDonald's has huge hands and looks silly.

The Silver Surfer statue is in every single movie theater. I don't know why the person who wrote this article thought that it was something special.
