bloomberg.com— An exodus of discouraged workers from the job market kept the U.S. unemployment rate from climbing above 10 percent in December, economists said.

FTA: "The participation rate, or the share of the population in the labor force, fell to 64.6 percent in December, the lowest level since 1985, from 64.9 percent."I'd love to see what percentage of those were in manufacturing or other production-related jobs.
What kind of bulls**t is the MSM media talking about? They are saying that 661,000 people stopped looking for jobs which represents 1.1% of the labor market. Had those people been looking for jobs it would have caused the unemployment rate rise a few tenths of a percent to 10.4%, but it allowed the rate to remain unchanged. Now if you add in all those people plus the 85k that as lost last month it caused the rise in the U-6 to be 17.3%. Alright so 661,000 = 1.1% but it only represents .4% in the U-3 numbers. Where as 85k represents .1% in the U-6 numbers. Something tells me the people in the government have a major problem doing basic math here. I don't give a s**t how many categories they have stuff broken down into to try to polish this turd, but in the real world if somebody tried to turn this in as a project for math class they would get a big fat F. Maybe we should try this creative accounting on our taxes. See for 30 weekends out of 52 I was the parent of my kids friends and at an average of having 8 kids for that time spend I should be able to claim those 8 as dependents which also puts me in a lower tax bracket because my income shrunk so I should get more on my tax returns. s**t we would all be thrown in jail.
