macapper.com — Go to MacUpdate and search for ?disc? and ?burn?. Quite a few apps, huh? And these aren?t even all of them. There?s a plethora of burners for OS X, and more coming out each week. Each of them has their pros and cons, and today we?re going to see which one comes out on top.

Ohh, I think Toast is a really nice piece of software. It's really easy to make an Audio CD, DVD with simple menus, burn images, mount images that Finder won't support directly - all in one very simple interface. It also mounts ISO's and other images as real discs, so software can't tell that it's an Image being loaded.I like Toast. I could use a combination of different tools to do the same stuff, but I like the simplicity and single-solution approach of Toast. And really, the DVD creation tools are so easy - you can just drag some media files of almost any type over to the window, and click Burn. Obviously it takes a little while to transcode, but the MPEG encoder included with Toast seems fairly good.

I love Toast. It has alot of cool stuff besides GUI. It's simple, powerful, and innovate. And cheap.

I use Disk Utility, Finder and iTunes. When I need anything else I'll buy Toast.
