lifeisoverpriced.com — In the last 24 hours, not counting anything I can’t see because it has been buried into oblivion, 113 submissions have hit the front page of Digg. In that same 24 hour time period, not counting the even larger number of stories that have likely been buried, there have been 15,285 submissions to the popular social content website...

I would agree. I'd say "gaming" still is going on here and then, but the new formula seems to be working for the most part. Its not perfect, but can it ever really be? We are dealing with some people who just want to be the next tubes star.

That is really an excellent comment. I always try to give folks the benefit of the doubt on some of these submissions, but now maybe is the time for a little more burying. Lets bring good quality content back to Digg. God save the Digg...ummm...maybe not...Tubes save the Digg.

Absolutely, but it's not going anywhere. If you want to get more than 5 Diggs for your story you more or less HAVE to use it. I've just stopped bothering to submit things.

I'm guessing that of all the regular visitors to digg, about 10% have accounts, about 5% comment, and about 0.1% submit.

Reddit is so far ahead of Digg it seems. Digg needs to ease up with the algorithm and allow stories to get to the front page with about 40 to 50 diggs, regardless of who the submitter is. If the people on the front page don't like it they will bury the story anyways. So let the people decide what is digg worthy instead of some really harsh algorithm that mostly fails. Isn't that the idea to begin with?I know I am gonna get dugg down for bashing Digg (and praising Reddit) but it just had to be said.

I don't worry about the status of my submissions or the popularity of my posts. I'm just tickled pink that I get to express my opinions and even happier when someone uses logic and facts to change my mind about something. Viva la Dig!

Oh, Lord Albert, I could show everyone what would I like to do with spammers. Well, if you watch Saturday Cooks, you probably can imagine.
