Exactly, Al Gore actually did a lot of good to promote the Internet as we know it today, and the FUD that get's thrown around is just ridiculous. Please read:<a class="user" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Gore#The_Internet_and_the_Webbys">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al_Gore#The_Internet_and_the_Webbys</a>In fact, Vint Cerf, and Bob Kahn, two of the real "inventors of the internet" put out this statement: " [A]s the two people who designed the basic architecture and the core protocols that make the Internet work, we would like to acknowledge VP Gore's contributions as a Congressman, Senator and as Vice President. No other elected official, to our knowledge, has made a greater contribution over a longer period of time. Last year the Vice President made a straightforward statement on his role. He said: "During my service in the United States Congress I took the initiative in creating the Internet." We don't think, as some people have argued, that Gore intended to claim he "invented" the Internet. Moreover, there is no question in our minds that while serving as Senator, Gore's initiatives had a significant and beneficial effect on the still-evolving Internet. The fact of the matter is that Gore was talking about and promoting the Internet long before most people were listening. We feel it is timely to offer our perspective."<a class="user" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vint_Cerf">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vint_Cerf</a><a class="user" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_E._Kahn">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_E._Kahn</a>So let's drop the jokes about Al Gore "inventing the Internet".
wow, jacobmiller, it's weird that you would mention that wikipedia article, because i was reading the part titled "the internet and the webbys" and there was a section talking about al gore, apple, steve jobs, and some "shady stocks." it said, "In May 2003, Gore joined the board of directors of Apple Computer.[67] [68] Gore also served as the chairman of a special investigative committee which investigated illicit backdating of stock options and cleared Apple CEO Steve Jobs. John Stossel has proven himself to be a liar many times. He either flat out ignores the facts or just plain doesn't care about them. He quotes many discredited sources on a regular basis, and his knowledge on most things he blathers on about is as shallow as a kiddie pool.
In Quebec, we had the first "Green Christmas" EVER this year (They started recording this stuff 55 years ago). We had no snow on christmas. When i was a kid, (im 29) i used to make snowmen around the 20th of November. We are approaching 1st january and there is not enough snow outside to make a friggin snowman.
